When it comes to authentic Creole flavors in New Orleans, Neyow’s Creole Café on Bienville Street has carved out a well-earned reputation. Known for its homestyle dishes, lively atmosphere, and true Southern hospitality, Neyow’s has become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.

A Little About Neyow’s

Neyow’s Creole Café began in 2010, just a few years after Hurricane Katrina reshaped the city. Owner Tanya Dubuclet first started cooking suppers out of her home for family and friends, drawing on the treasured recipes passed down from her grandmother. The overwhelming support and love for her cooking soon grew into a full-fledged restaurant that captured the heart of New Orleans.

The name “Neyow’s” itself carries a personal touch, it was inspired by the Dubuclet family’s favorite dog breed, the Neapolitan Mastiff, symbolizing loyalty, strength, and family roots.

Today, Neyow’s continues to honor those beginnings, serving made-from-scratch meals in a welcoming space where good food and good company are always at the center. Guests not only enjoy the flavorful dishes but also the warm service that makes each visit feel like coming home. And as soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a wall of celebrities who’ve dined there, a testament to its wide-reaching appeal. Right next door, the family also operates Neyow’s XL Steakhouse, a more refined spot offering a classy dining experience and weekend brunch, showing how the brand has grown while staying true to its roots.

Menu Highlights

The menu at Neyow’s is a celebration of Louisiana’s culinary roots. Start with the Char-Grilled Oysters, smoky and rich, fresh from the grill. For a true taste of comfort, the Red Beans and Rice is a favorite, served with your choice of fried chicken, grilled pork chops, or hot sausage. Another classic is the File’ Gumbo, loaded with shrimp, smoked sausage, and ham, simmered to perfection and served over white rice.

Seafood lovers will appreciate the Shrimp on the Avenue, tender shrimp in a dill cream sauce over angel hair pasta, or the Filet of Catfish, available grilled or fried and paired with two sides. To end on a sweet note, the Homemade Bread Pudding drizzled with cinnamon cream sauce is a must-try.

And no visit is complete without Neyow’s signature Bow Wow Punch—a colorful house specialty with a little extra kick. It’s become a must-order for regulars and first-timers alike, the kind of drink that sets the tone for a night of good food, laughter, and lasting memories.
