LSU controlled the tempo in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night, defeating Louisiana Tech 23–7 to improve to 2–0 on the season. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 237 yards and a touchdown, while the Tigers’ defense smothered the Bulldogs until the closing minutes.

First Quarter

LSU’s opening drive stalled with a missed 51-yard field goal, and Nussmeier’s next pass was picked off by Michael Richard. But the Tigers responded with a 98-yard march capped by Nussmeier’s 7-yard strike to Nic Anderson for a 7–0 lead.
